CVO a Place for Family Fun

The Arntz family ended their CVO experience with a day hike to the Rochester Panel petroglyphs. It was a little too much fun for little Catie.

It was a beautiful, sunny day and Grant explored the canyon just like Indiana Jones.

With his flip-flops and Indian Jones shirt Grant is ready to find hidden treasures left behind by the ancient people who inhabited the San Rafael Swell.

The hike to the Rochester Panel is fun for people of all ages. It is about a 1/2 mile hike round trip and takes about 15 minutes to get to the panel from the trail head.

A bonding moment between fathers and daughters.

Grant contemplates the meaning of the ancient drawings. What would Indiana think?????

CVO offers many activities for the family to enjoy.

Grandmother and granddaughter learn how to rope the dummies @ the Castle Dale Arena. Rope that calf Cowgirls!!!

Tawny and her sister Sydney were excellent instructors. They are both skilled Cowgirls from Emery County.
Some of the group were hesitant to mount these beautiful horses at the beginning. Tawny is great with kids. She gave them a quick lesson and made everyone feel comfortable.
Look at these Cowboys with their shorts and sneakers. Even in their beach combing attire they enjoyed the ride.
Their smiles say it all!!! We hope that they return soon!!!!

This past weekend CVO hosted the wedding of Lindsey Louise Carter and Joshua Behunin. What a fine looking couple they make!! Lindsey is no stranger to CVO. Her mother, Lori and Father Bret are an integral part of CVO and CVR (Castle Valley Ranch). Lindsey has also been known to help out at CVO.
We wish them the best!!
Congradulations!!

Castle Dale Youth Group Spends the Day @ CVO

Recently CVO had the privilege of hosting the Castle Dale Stake Youth Conference. The theme was "Heroes of the Ladder-Day". 180 young men and women arrived to prove that we all can be heroes! Oh, let us not forget that a few adults were there too. Take a look at this fine group from Emery County.

Thank you Castle Dale Stake for choosing to have your activity at CVO. We enjoyed the conference and we hope you will all return again soon!
WE CAN BE HEROES!!

Kayakers runnning the San Rafael River

Ancient Rock Art in Buckhornwash in the San Rafael Swell.

Mary and Brian are the adventurers ready to run the river. They are visiting from Breckenridge, CO.

There are many areas with unusual ancient Indian rock art in the San Rafael Swell.

The Kayakers are ready to begin their trip. The put in is at Fullers Bottom and the take out is at the San Rafael River Bridge.

It shouldn't take more than a day to run this section of the river. However, they are going to make it a weekend trip. Why rush? There are many canyons and ruins to explore off the shores of the San Rafael River.
Bon Voyage!!

The ATV Invasion @ CVO

A show of strength. No rocks are going to stop this group!!!
They left without a trace. They packed it in and packed it out!

They are known by many names. The F Troop, Desert Dudes & Bitchin' Babes, we know them only as Larry's group. Every year they descend upon CVO in a cloud of dust and a roar of engines. They have come to play!!!!

This group knows the importance of being prepared with plenty of provisions!

They're going to get thirsty out on the dusty trails.

And no one leaves of trace. They pack it in and pack it out.

They are here to conquer the trails.

And have alot of fun!!

A shot from above at the Hole Trail.

Mint Juleps anyone??? The Kentucky Derby celebrated at CVO.

Derby days at CVO. Every night this group had a theme party. I don't think anyone knows who won the race.

Mike, Jeff and Jeff provided the music.

This group knows how to have fun. Sometimes too much fun!

The theme of the party was the 50's and 60's.

Butch was "feeling more than he should" but he looks like he is enjoying himself.

Mike, aka (Indian), and Nancy were dressed to the nines.

Larry and Vickie are the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's etc..... They're a fine looking pair in any decade!

Hurray for the Hippies!

Lunch was always a great experience.
Thanks to Kam and Tam. Nothing but the best gourmet hot dogs.

Shannon's on lookout watching for falling rocks in Short Canyon.

Vickie and Ebony are ready to ride.

They are both waiting patiently for Larry to replace the fuel pump on his ripping, snorting Rhino.

Say "cheese" Larry!!!

The gathering of the girls.

They ride em hard and sometimes the machines need some TLC. Indian thanked the mechanics who fixed his ride with a sloppy lip locker. Payment in full!!!

Kevin and Wendy are ready to ride!!!

Sibling rivalry?? Not present for these two sisters. As quickly as they arrived they disappeared. Too quickly, we would have liked them to have stayed longer but a group like this needs room to roam. We at CVO are looking forward to seeing them again soon!!!!!
